Support for health and adult social care organisations.

The Partnership Manager (Health & Adult Social Care) offers dedicated and specialist support for:

• Funding
• Commissioning
• Partnerships & collaborations
• Safeguarding policies/procedures
• Developing services to meet health and social care needs
• Support and training to enable effective participation by voluntary sector representatives

The Partnership Manager co-ordinates and facilitates the quarterly Health & Adult Social Care Network and ensures that information and updates relevant to organisations within health and social care are sent out regularly.

Partnership Working in Health and Social Care

The role is also to develop and support partnership working between the statutory and voluntary sector and the Partnership Manager has an overarching understanding of the partnership structure in Bexley.  Currently a review of the partnership structure is being undertaken over the course of the summer 2011 to which the voluntary sector will contribute.  When this is completed and decisions made, we will then be able to determine where our representation will be and the Partnership Manager will be responsible for organizing any elections for voluntary sector representatives.

Understanding change

The Partnership Manager has an understanding of how national agendas impact locally in Bexley, including personalization in social care and the proposed changes to the NHS.  The Partnership Manager is currently a member of the South East London Stakeholder Reference Group which provides an opportunity for the voluntary sector to feed into NHS developments in this area.

Bexley Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board

Safeguarding is at the heart of health and adult social care services in Bexley and is everyone’s responsibility.  The Safeguarding Adults Board, as a multi-agency board, is the key mechanism to determine how organisations will co-operate to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults at risk and for ensuring the effectiveness of what they do.  Representation for this Board is provided by members of the voluntary sector and the Partnership Manager.
