Age Uk Bexley require an experienced assistant co-ordinator for their day centre for people over 60 who have enhanced care needs. You will work under the direction of the Day Centre Co-ordinator to assist in providing an opportunity for frail elderly housebound people to socialise in a Day Centre setting. You will have at least 1 year experience in Health and Social Care and working with frail elderly people. NVQ2 (or Level 2 Diploma) in Health and Social Care is essential.

Wildlife Officer Vacancy at The Woodlands Farm Trust

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Wildlife Officer at The Woodlands Farm Trust, a conservation project set in 89 acres of sustainably farmed land in South East London. The successful applicant will co-ordinate the protection and promotion of biodiversity on Woodlands Farm. S/he will work with local communities and volunteers to provide training, increase awareness of the farm’s biodiversity and local conservation priorities, inspiring local communities to become actively involved in protecting the environment. These aims will be achieved through conducting baseline surveys of the farm’s biodiversity and establishing a sustainable long term monitoring and management programme.

The Wildlife Officer will work with the farm’s Project Manager, Education Officer and many volunteers. This post is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund for one year.

Have you the experience, skills and enthusiasm needed to establish and develop a new Befriending Project within Crossroads Care Bexley?

Crossroads Care are looking for a highly motivated person with previous experience of managing a befriending project within the voluntary sector with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable them to support both the users of the service and volunteers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, co-ordinating, monitoring, recruiting and sustaining a volunteer befriending project which will utilize volunteer’s life skills and experience for the benefit of carers, ex-carers and socially isolated older people in Bexley and the surrounding areas.

The post holder will work in an innovative and creative way in order to engage volunteers and actively support them in their development to achieve positive outcomes to our users.

The post holder must also have the ability to conduct user led assessments, work in partnership with other like minded organizations, have the ability to cope with multiple demands, hold a high threshold of confidentiality and have clear project management skills.
