Adult safeguarding: Alerters/basic awareness

Suitable for:
The workshop is for all staff/volunteers that come into contact with vulnerable adults who may be at risk of abuse or neglect and will provide participants with a basic awareness of adult safeguarding.
Content:
This course (in addition to the e-learning course) provides knowledge and understanding of adult safeguarding at basic awareness level and is designed to be practical and engaging, requiring the attendees to consider dilemmas and scenarios, based on real life cases and covers:
- What is abuse?
- Who is an Adult at Risk?
- How to recognise signs and symptoms of abuse
- Responsibilities of Concern raisers
- Do’s and Don’ts for Concern raisers
- Reporting concerns
Please note that this course is only available to organisations who work in Bexley and/or provide services Bexley residents.
Delivery method:
The Tutor will deliver this workshop using a mixture of face to face presented information, written examples of pertinent case law and case studies which will enable the integration of theory into practice.
Learning outcomes:
This course supports Competencies 1-5, of the Safeguarding Adults Competency Framework.
There is no cost for this session.
The half day course does not include lunch however refreshments will be provided.
