Impact for Volunteer Managers Workshop

In this workshop, we will explore what impact means within the charity sector, and how a better understanding of this concept can help you to improve services and support for volunteers in your organisation. Over two hours, we will learn about the theory of change model, and how to actively involve volunteers in your organisation's pathway to impact. We will also look at how to evaluate volunteer-related impact, and the ways you can share and celebrate volunteer contributions to the work of your organisation. The workshop will involve 2 group activities, and participant engagement with polls via your mobile phone. You will be asked to complete a short survey about your understanding of impact before the workshop, and your application of learning 3 months after its delivery.

Workshop Lead: Verity Buckley – Verity is an impact lead based at King’s College London, where she manages a number of initiatives to better support, monitor and evaluate the impact of research and public engagement. Prior to joining King’s, Verity worked in the charity sector, leading early career leadership programmes for NCVO and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
