Role Description

Purpose of the role:

The Marketing and Communication Lead will work closely with the Development and Fundraising Lead to deliver effective and efficient communications to maximise our brand impact and inspire our audiences. The post holder will provide be responsible for daily social postings across all sites as well as writing content for web sites and publications. They will work closely with and support departments within the organisation to help, plan and coordinate content and communications activities from across teams, and lead communication planning for major outputs and activities.

Job Summary:

The role is responsible for developing, delivering and reporting on a programme of digital communications and social media activity across the organisation. The individual also contributes ideas and expertise to the team and wider organisational discussions, plans and activities to support our organisational aims and objectives. Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

• Create daily social media postings using Canva to generate graphic design elements. • Write articles for the website when required and link these to social media posts.

• Contribute to and deliver an effective communications strategy and implementation plans and programmes, aligned to the organisational strategy, direction and values.

• Create and deliver compelling campaigns and propositions which drive brand awareness, donations and other actions.

• Manage the development of a steady stream of engaging and shareable content across our digital channels.

• Work with colleagues across the organisation to co-produce website content and update website pages as required. This will include dealing with ad-hoc requests for website content.

• Devise strategies to engage more followers and supporters to increase awareness of our role, promote good practice in complaint handling and share learning from investigations.

• Work with the IT manager to provide support and training to colleagues on use of our website content management system and social media.

• Devise and plan social media ad campaigns when necessary, for example for public consultations.

• Stay up to date with social media trends and developments and advise on how we can use these to increase our digital engagement.

• Seek opportunities to promote our digital content and increase our online reach.

• Contribute to the development of new online resources and projects as part of the digital team.

• Work with the fundraising colleagues on integrated campaigns for diverse audiences, coordinate content and engaging assets

• Grow our organic social media presence contributing to brand recognition and online income

• Manage set up and co-production of our regular e-newsletter

• Analyse and report on content and digital performance

• Contribute and assist in the delivery of our marketing and content strategy

• Participate in regular supervision with manager • Engage and contribute within team meetings, individual appraisal and setting personal development goals within the job

• Adhere to organisation policies and procedures • Maintain and update training as required
