We are committed to becoming trauma informed organisation and to embed this approach in everything we do as a charity.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a new project that will develop and demonstrate the effectiveness of trauma-informed practice and the benefits of this approach to individuals who use our service.

We recognise that to be genuinely trauma-informed, our approach must be embedded beyond frontline support services; understanding that trauma exists everywhere not just with people we support, but also for all staff within the organisation.

The post holder will develop trauma informed practice within the workforce and the organisation, working with carers and older people in individual cases as required.

 

As a Trauma Informed Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

•Implementing our trauma informed approach through a locally developed framework embedding a change in organisational culture

•Leading on and attaining a recognised trauma informed quality kitemark within next 2 years.

•Developing and delivering a series of trauma informed workshops to colleagues and external stakeholders.

•Developing a Trauma Informed referral pathway for assessments, providing appropriate services/interventions through the trauma informed therapist reflecting the need to ensure carers/ older people can progress in their recovery.

•Supporting staff and services through the provision of assessments of unpaid carers and older people.

•Developing and supporting the implementation of trauma informed care plans, working closely with carers/ older people and their families

•Supporting the development and implementation of a range of trauma responsive interventions for carers and older people, tailoring these to individual needs as necessary.

•Undertaking risk assessments.

•Driving good practice, through the application of appropriate knowledge, and expertise, to enable our workforce to support unpaid carers and older people affected by trauma through appropriate interventions, and to develop resilience and healing

•Attending team, business and other meetings as required

•Attending clinical/ managerial supervision on a regular basis.

•Maintaining a good awareness of current developments in ACEs and a trauma informed approach.
