Role Description

Do you have a genuine interest in seeing young people reach their full potential and can relate to the experiences of young people in your community?

 

Are you someone with entrepreneurial savvy willing to mentor and support a young person in developing a project?

 

Act For Change is recruiting youth mentors to work with young people, which aims to support young people create a successful mindset to navigate lived and future experiences.

The organisation

Act For Change has developed a mentoring program that considers young people's trauma and enables engagement to achieve successful outcomes.

 

We provide a mentoring service to young people aged 10-16 from marginalised backgrounds as part of a 12-week youth programme.

 

Youth mentors will be trained using our Trauma- Systemic-Developmental (TSD) Model, which empowers young people to resolve current issues and develop coping strategies for the future.

 

Role/ responsibilities

 

To engage young people referred to the organisation, arranging initial contact and subsequent sessions at a mutually agreed venue.

 

To appropriately plan and organise outcomes-focused activities to engage young people during sessions.

 

To help each young person to develop or begin to develop life skills and accomplish specific goals
