The demand on voluntary and community services continues to grow, and with it, the need for volunteers. The way that people volunteer is changing; more young people are getting involved, volunteers are asking for more flexibility in their volunteering and the world of digital is playing a greater part.
This interactive workshop will focus on the future of volunteering in Bexley and discussions will cover various areas including;
- Identifying strengths and development areas of the current volunteering offer
- Looking at ways to make volunteering in Bexley more appealing and flexible
- Increasing the diversity of our volunteers to reflect the changing diversity of our residents
- What may be barriers to volunteering and how we could reduce or overcome them
- How to make volunteering better both for volunteers and the communities they work with
We're keen to hear your views to help shape volunteering so that:
- People enjoy volunteering and get a lot from it
- Volunteering becomes an easier thing to do for people and barriers to access volunteering opportunities are reduced
- Bexley can become a place where it’s a social norm to volunteer.
- Volunteers are well-equipped to support the community and environments they serve
This is a partnership event with the London Borough of Bexley so the knowledge gained from these workshops will help inform the Stronger Community Strategies and provisions for supporting volunteering and organisations in Bexley, so don’t miss this opportunity to have your say!
