X by X Bromley is the only *Disabled-led organisation for Deaf and Disabled People* and Carers in Bromley. *By Disabled People we include people who need support around or have experienced physical, sensory, mental health, long-term health (including people living with HIV or AIDs) learning or development barriers, neuro-divergent people plus people who use or have used drug or alcohol services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated person with Lived Experience and passion for Disability Rights to work with disabled-led organisations, engaging local Deaf and disabled people to identify issues affecting their lives and influence change at a decision maker level through policy and campaigning work.
You:
- Have experience of carrying out accessible engagement (running forums and events such as electoral hustings)
- Have passion, knowledge and experience needed to effectively carry out campaign and policy work in an accessible and compelling way that supports effective campaigning and influencing.
- Are great at developing effective relationships across different sectors and communicating with diverse audiences.
- Have good communication skills and negotiation skills, as well as the confidence to speak up and challenge at a decision maker level.
What we offer:
Flexible working - much of this job could be done remotely. The job does require face to face meetings and work based at our office in Beckenham depending on the Public Health advice.
Fixed term contract up to 14 June 2023
Pension: Non-contributory pension 3%
