Child Play Worker

This is an exciting opportunity for Child Play Workers to be part of a multi-disciplinary Family Support team, contributing to a safe and stimulating childcare and support experience for parents and carers within Family Lives policies and procedures. The Child Play Workers will undertake centre based activity to assist with play work as required and as directed by the Mobile lead. You will signpost families, where relevant, to access the correct services to meet their needs and to narrow the gap in outcomes for the most vulnerable children. You will also work closely with the home visiting service volunteers and parenting lead in delivering a joined up package of early support for families.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the general care and observation of the children in childcare activities, taking action as necessary to ensure health and safety, cleaning and maintaining equipment. You will be responsible for supporting the function of the children’s centre activity programmes and play work to improve take up and outcomes for parents.

You will have proven experience of working in a team and working directly with children and families in a social care or educational environment, as well as experience of working with multi-racial groups.  Commitment to the values, aims and objectives of Family Lives, and to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children are essential.

As a condition of appointment to this post, you are required to hold a qualification related to Social Care or Child Care NVQ2 and be willing to work towards Level 3 within 6 months of your start date.

These roles are zero hours posts, meaning no there are no guaranteed hours and will depend on contracts won by Family Lives.
