Role Description

Age UK Bexley is a critical charity in the delivery of services and support to older people across the London borough of bexley. With people over 65 constituting nearly 20% of the local poplulation the charity occupies a central role in campagining for and investing in resources key to a positive later life for Bexely's residents.

The charity has undergone fundimental change in the last two years, and is about to embark on a new areas of development with a move to a new headquarters and growth of  services and community profile. 

About the role

The finance and operations managers role will be fundimental  supporting planned changes to the charity's form and functions. You will oversee the charity's financial systems, work with its senior staff and support the CEO in building the financial and operational resilience central to ensuring the charity's sustainability.

Principle responsibilities will include:

  • To manage and oversee key financial and operational governance central to the sustainable delivery and development of the charity’s services
     
  • To ensure that these services comply with any statutory, regulatory and/or contractual requirements against which the charity is governed
     
  • To support the annual business planning process by implementing robust management reporting and assist the CEO in developing systems to enable progress to be monitored against corporate targets
     
  • To champion collaborative and cross-organisational working within and between the charity’s support and operational functions ensuring delivery of organisational objectives and efficient use of resources

The post holder will have a Finance management qualification (ACCA, CIMA to level 4 or equivalent), an ability to work collegiately within a dynamic working environment and a preparedness to look critically at our systems and methods of operation to identify efficiencies that improve our performance and return on investment.
