Bexley VCS Futures

Registration is closed for this event
Many of us have been involved in important discussions planning for NHS and Local Authority Recovery and the VCS role within this. We all advocate for the VCS to be a key partner in Recovery. However, BVSC believe that the sector now needs our own space to examine what we want for the future of our beneficiaries, our communities, our sector and our staff and volunteers. And how we all develop to meet this new future.

This is one of the most important discussions we can have at this time, as a sector.

We are offering this programme for free to remove any barriers at this difficult time.

This is session 1 of a 3 session programe- you don’t need to attend each one but each session builds on the other and would be beneficial if you choose to. Session 2 and 3 are on Monday 12 October, 10 – 12 noon and Thursday 5 November, 10 – 12 noon. Pop into your diary and links will soon be available to book.

There are 40 spaces max. and we expect this to be popular. Book fast!

We’ll be working with Rob Francis, an associate director from research and engagement company Traverse. Rob is facilitator with over ten years’ experience supporting the VCS, statutory bodies and communities to think about their vision and ambition, including how to prepare for different versions of the future. He has designed scenarios and simulations for local government, for local health systems and for social care. In the last couple of years he has led big local vision projects for Southend and Gloucestershire, bringing together people to think about the way they want their communities to look and feel in 2050 and what that means for local priorities here and now. Rob has recently written a short article about the need to engage citizens in thinking about the future following the pandemic, and has been leading online workshops with VCS representatives nationwide using two scenarios which you can read more about here.

Rob will work with us to draft a set of future scenarios tailored to Bexley, helping us think in depth about the challenges and opportunities we may be facing in the years ahead and what that means for us as organisations and a sector.
