On 21st July 2025, local VCSE organisations came together at The Engine House in Erith for another impactful Bexley Voluntary Sector Forum. We were joined by Deborah Travers from London Borough of Bexley and the session included key updates from BVSC, discussions on local and national advocacy, and preparations for an upcoming meeting with Cllr Melvin Seymour.
Highlights included:
• Insightful reflections on recent meetings with MPs, including the potential for a parliamentary tour.
• Updates from the South East London Alliance and the successful funding of Bexley Mencap.
• A call for feedback on NHS’s 10-Year Plan and upcoming trustee recruitment.
• Introduction of newly confirmed Voluntary Sector Representatives and open nominations for Forum Chair.
• Valuable roundtable discussions to formulate messages for a future meeting with Cllr Seymour on adult health and social care priorities.
We also heard updates from across the sector—from dementia support and fuel poverty events to summer youth activities and BSL courses.
The next Forum will be held on 2nd October 2025—we look forward to seeing you there!
