People in a group

On 2nd October 2025, local voluntary and community organisations came together at the Engine House in Erith for the latest Bexley Voluntary Sector Forum (BVSF).

The forum provided a space to share updates, strengthen collaboration, and discuss how the voluntary sector can influence local decision-making.

Key discussions included:
•    Partnership working & health integration: Updates on the “Integrator” model and how voluntary sector voices can feed into neighbourhood and wellbeing partnerships.
•    Sector representation: Reps shared updates from safeguarding, carers, and children & young people’s networks, emphasising the importance of early intervention and prevention.
•    Dialogue with Cllr Chris Taylor: The Cabinet Member for Children’s Services engaged with the forum on family hubs, SEND provision, prevention strategies, housing challenges, and opportunities for voluntary organisations to shape future services.
•    Round robin updates: Members highlighted achievements and upcoming projects, notably Bexley Women’s Aid celebrating 50 years!
The session reinforced the need for stronger collaboration between the council and voluntary sector to meet local needs, particularly around children, families, and health inequalities.
Future dates:
•    Adult Health & Social Care Network – 14 October
•    Meeting with Cllr Seymour – 29 October
•    Children & Young People’s Network – 4 November
•    Next Forum – 8 January 2026
